Privacy policy

What we collect and how we use it. The short answer: as little as possible.

Last updated: June 14, 2026

This policy explains what data DripCost collects and how it is used. The site is built to work without accounts and without profiling, so there is genuinely little to tell.

What we collect

You do not need an account to use anything on this site, and we never ask for your name, email address, or payment details. The calculators run in your browser; the subscriptions and habits you type into them are not sent to us unless you choose to save a stack.

When you save a stack to share it, we store the items you entered (labels, costs, and frequencies) under a random link token. Alongside the stack we also record the IP address the save came from and, when our network provider supplies it, the approximate country it was created in. We use these only to prevent abuse and to moderate saved stacks; they are never shown publicly and are deleted together with the stack. Saved stacks still need no account, no email, and no fingerprint.

Like almost every website, our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested) for security and debugging. These logs are not used to build profiles and are deleted on a rolling basis.

What stays on your device

Your theme choice (light or dark) and preferred display currency are stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them. They never leave your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies

We use essential cookies that the site needs to function, such as the session cookie that protects forms against cross-site request forgery.

We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used. The Analytics section below explains what it collects and how to opt out.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and how the site performs. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as the pages you visit, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We configure it for site measurement only, and we never send it the figures you type into a calculator. This data is processed by Google on our behalf, subject to Google's privacy policy.

You can opt out across every site with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not buy data about you from anyone else. Aside from the analytics described above, we do not run hidden trackers that follow you around the web.

Data retention

Saved stacks are kept so that share links keep working, together with the IP address and approximate country recorded when they were created. If you want a stack you created removed, contact us with the link and we will delete it, origin data included. We may also remove saved stacks ourselves, for example when one is reported or appears abusive.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, this page changes with them, along with the date at the top. Significant changes will be called out on the site rather than buried.
