About Spotify
Spotify is the kind of subscription that pays for itself in daily use, which is exactly why its long-run cost slips under the radar. The Individual plan covers one listener; Duo and Family spread the cost across a household and usually win on a per-person basis. Spotify has raised its prices in several markets recently, ending years of a famously flat fee, so the inflation-adjusted projection here is more than hypothetical. Over a decade even the Individual plan totals well over a thousand dollars, a reasonable price for daily music, but a real number worth seeing whole. If you also pay for YouTube Premium or Apple Music, there is likely overlap worth trimming.
