About Netflix
Netflix is the default streaming subscription for millions of households, and its price has crept upward almost every year. The ad-supported Standard plan keeps the monthly cost low, while the Premium tier unlocks 4K and four simultaneous streams. The number that surprises people is not the monthly charge, it is the multi-year total. At the Standard price a decade of Netflix runs well into four figures, and that assumes the price never rises again, which it almost certainly will. Because Netflix is rarely cancelled once added, it behaves like a fixed cost rather than a discretionary one. If you also pay for Disney+, Max, or Hulu, the combined streaming bill is often larger than a single subscription people actually scrutinize. Use the calculator above to see your real Netflix cost over 1, 5, 10 and 20 years, and how an inflation-adjusted price changes the picture.

How to cancel Netflix
- Sign in to netflix.com in a browser and open your Account page from the profile menu.
- Under Membership, choose Manage membership, then select Cancel membership.
- Confirm on the next screen. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- If you pay through a third party such as a mobile carrier or TV provider, cancel through that provider instead; the Account page tells you who bills you.
Cancellation flows change. If a step looks different, the provider's own help pages have the current version.
